"The Runs"

Yes, Team Television 101 is not above
venturing into the realm of potty humor to trigger a few laughs on
occasion. Case in point, "The Runs" a spoof on the movie "The
Ruins". We hope you enjoy the short film and laugh as hard as we
do. We hope that you won't think that we are any more sophomoric or
juvenile than you already thought we were. MDM

Greed

Greed
Pronunciation: \ˈgrēd\
Function: noun
Etymology: back-formation from greedy
Date: 1609
: a selfish and excessive desire for more of something (as money) than is needed
The news coverage of the various collapses of fabled Wall Street institutions (Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch...) is so sad and pathetic, it's almost comical. I guess it would truly be funny if so many people weren't affected, and I'm not referring to the investment bankers. The word "greed" has been tossed around by various pundits, news reporters, and even our presidential candidates. Go figure, greed (one of the seven deadly sins), might be at the root of this crisis,
Ironically, Team Television 101 created a television series, titled "Greed" that has attracted some attention. We feel it has the potential to be a huge hit. I guess it's all about timing. We want to find the perfect network. Our bets are on a few great networks. I think you know who they are. Anyhow, let the best cable or traditional network WIN!

Hmmm . That person was really mean.

Yes Alexa,
In an updraft sometimes ice crystals form in the upper atmosphere and when they get heavy enough they fall to earth, when they hit terminal velocity a mixture of sugar and honey molecules gather on the outside of these ice crystals and sometimes but only in rare occasions a cold wind from the north blows, some say these winds are magic and are blown from the sighs of Ricola founder, Emil Richterich. Straight from the Swiss Alps they just wander the earth until the perfect conditions appear or should I say a fantasy of throat soothing goodness falls on the chosen one, bringing him or her good luck for the planting season. Of course this is according to legend but if I were you, I would plant this spring and just sit back and wait for fall because the harvest is going to be a good one.

September 11th Anniversary
11/09/08 20:32 Filed in: Personal
I have a hard time revisiting the
events of September 11, 2001. Don't get me wrong, I'm aware that
there are many tragic moments in the history of the world. I've
always felt safe in this country, but I knew we weren't immune to
an attack. I guess I'm still in shock at how a normal day, a
beautiful day in New York City, Washington DC and in Pennsylvania,
during what was perceived as peace time, could change so
quickly.
Today, Instead of remembering the horrors, I'm going to focus on the part of the tragedy that gives me hope, and reassurance. I appreciate that as people sat in airplanes that had been commandeered by terrorists, or trapped in burning office towers, and even right before a brave group of people decided to fight back against the hijackers, that many people grabbed their cell phones and called their loved ones. They called to say things like "don't worry", "don't be sad", "things will be alright" and "I love you". Simple gestures of love in the face of a nightmare. Emphasis on LOVE.

The Perfect Latte
10/09/08 23:07 Filed in: Humor
Sure, we've become a bit of a coffee
culture lately with a Starbucks in every town (don't get me wrong,
we LOVE Starbucks), as well as
The Coffee Bean, and Peet's. Every once and a while you find a
special place that stands out, even in a sea of coffee hipness. On
a recent trip to Chicago, I stopped at a coffee house to get some
change for the train, and I decided to have some coffee. The place
was called Intelligentsia Cafe. The barista, and counter
help were very nice, and the coffee was superb. I went back a few
times, and when I returned home I looked them up on the net. To my
surprise, there is an Intelligentsia Cafe in the
Silverlake neighborhood of LA.

Anyhow, I'm starting to really relish late afternoons sitting on the patio drinking what seems like the perfect latte.

That's all I have to say.
P.S. If you're in LA (or Chicago) check them out. I think you will really enjoy yourself.

Television 101 is proud to announce
that Michael Felbinger, and Jake Hurst have joined the team, and
have been baptised in the waters of Televison 101 land (from pure
Artisan wells). We are thrilled to be associated with these two
very talented filmmakers. Michael and Jake have a crisp, clean,
cinematic style that combines their unique view of life, with
passion and a ton of laughs. They are fun to work with, and their
work is phenomenal.

"The Tortoise and the Hare"

The reason I titled this blog entry
"The Tortoise and the Hare" is because it is the only
analogy (go figure a literary one) that can adequately illustrate
why it is taking Team Television 101 so long to get our reel
uploaded onto our site. I won't go into the details, though it's
not our webmasters fault (Owen and Jordan are
AWESOME!) It just takes time. All I can say is that just
like the tortoise, we will make it to the finish line and we will
ROCK! Anyhow, check out the latest additions to our reel, and to
all of you hares out there, move aside. MDM

Summer is OVER! Oh No!
02/09/08 10:12 Filed in: Work
That's right, this year is flying by.
Where did the summer go? Anyhow, I hope everyone is relaxed and
refreshed and ready to make things happen. We at Television 101 are
feeling incredibly creative, so don't be surprised if you see us in
production somewhere near you. Our suggestion for the song of the
day is Elvis Costello's "Welcome to the Working Week". I know,
funny, Ha Ha. This is from his 1977 album "My Aim is True".

P.S. I don't think that there is any chance of 2008 slowing down since we have to deal with the election, and then the holidays, so let's all enjoy the ride.

Amoeba Records

Whenever you find yourself in Los
Angeles (Amoeba Records also has stores in San Francisco and
Berkeley) and need to buy some music, then head over to Amoeba
Records. amoeba hollywood
Amoeba isn't just a music store, though. It has a unique vibe of
it's own. It's a musical celebration. The people that work there
are cool (but not too cool, aka rude) and are always eager to help
you find the music/dvd's etc that you are looking for (no matter
how obscure). This is where Team Television 101 goes to keep our
eclectic musical style nurtured. I went there this week to buy
Toots and the Maytals "Pressure Drop". I think it's perfect Labor
Day music. Happy Labor Day Everyone!
